Calvary Chapel Southern Maryland exists to glorify God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and to grow a community of believers in the knowledge of Jesus Christ — equipping them to serve one another and to effectively take the Good News of God’s love, mercy and grace to Maryland and beyond.

WORSHIP MINISTRY

We believe that the worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give great place to music in our worship. If you have a musical talent that you feel could lend itself to the Worship Team, there are always opportunities to serve as a musician, vocalist, or with the audio/visual team.

DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY

Christian discipleship is the process by which believers grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life, while becoming more and more Christ-like. The goal of Calvary Chapel discipleship is to implement Jesus’ great commission of Matthew 28:18–20 through classroom sessions, Bible study and practical ministry. The discipleship process requires believers to respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to examine their thoughts, words and actions, and compare them with the Word of God. As disciples, we purpose to teach what we learn, passing on knowledge that we gain. We also purpose to share life – a relational process whereby we develop deeper relationships with those we disciple. Christian discipleship is a lifestyle of following Jesus Christ.

MEN'S MINISTRY

We understand that men and women were created differently and sometimes require different ministry approaches. Our men’s ministry was created to meet those specific needs. Special study groups are offered during the spring and fall. We also offer occasional events for men such as Bagels and Bullets and Micro-Missions projects.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

We understand that men and women were created differently and sometimes require different ministry approaches. Our women’s ministry exists to meet the needs of women by connecting them together through home Bible studies, the annual Women’s Conference in the fall, and other events throughout the year. Watch this site for these events.

YOUTH MINISTRY

Nurturing, supportive, and Christ-centered social activities are the basis for our teen outreach program Learning together, sharing the Word of God, and reaching out to others—our teen ministry is a great place for young people to connect with each other and begin to commit their lives to Christ through giving, sharing, and doing.

OUTREACH MINISTRY

The outreach ministry of Calvary Chapel Southern Maryland exists to meet various needs in our surrounding communities. First and foremost our desire is to reach those around us with the Biblical Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to meet people where they are in their various contexts through evangelistic outreaches, community food drives, and other community venues.

SERVANT'S HEART MINISTRY

Our Servant’s Heart Ministry works with members of our fellowship to help them discover the ministry that they are called to do. Sometimes that may require “test driving” a ministry—or even two or three—before finding the one that fits your personality, your skills, and your abilities. We encourage our members to try new ministries in order to find the perfect fit, but remember: there are no failures, just test drives!
